コンピューターサイエンスとサイバネティクスにバックグラウンドを持つ認知科学者です。人工生命、人間とコンピューターの相互作用、身体性モデリングおよび心の哲学の研究を行っています。身体性認知科学ユニットのコーディネーターであり、Adaptive Behavior の編集主任でもあります。

COVID-19 Survey Normativity Habits

哲学および心理学の学士号、哲学修士号および身体性認知科学で博士号を取得しています。博士課程では、身体性社会的相互作用を通じて文化がどのように再現されるかに焦点を当てた研究を行いました。新型コロナのパンデミックをきっかけに、博士研究員として福祉の問題に焦点を当て、身体性認知科学、デザインおよびデジタルテクノロジーの相互関係について調査しています。

Finda has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, M.Sc. in Biology of Human Performance and Health, and B.Sc. in Biology. She has a research background in Brain-Computer Interface, neurofeedback, and hyperscanning recording, and mostly worked around EEG. She joined the group to take part in the perceptual crossing hyperscanning EEG experiment and analyses.

Daniel has a PhD in Human Sciences, a MSc in Cognitive Science, and a BA in Educational Science and Education Management. His previous work applies enactive cognitive science to meditation and altered states of consciousness. In his current work at OIST, he applies Irruption Theory to meditation.

Tae is a certified medical translator. She supports the unit with ethics applications, participant recruitment, data collection and administration matters.

Synchrony Eye Tracker Gaze Interactions

生体医科学の学士（理学）号および計算論的神経科学と神経情報科学の修士（理学）号を取得しています。複数の物質による社会的相互作用、認知および神経言語学の非代表的な理論に関心を持っています。本ユニットでは現在、数学的モデル化と実験的アプローチを用いて人間同士の同期性の研究に取り組んでいます。

Emergence of Complexity Legobots

神経生物学の学士号および合成生物学とバイオテクノロジーの修士号を取得しています。ローテーションでは、進化ロボット環境を設定し、神経活動の自由度における身体的自由度の役割を調べます。

化学の学士（理学）号および理論化学の修士（理学）号を取得しています。ローテーションでは、ネットワーク解析を用いて能動的学習環境の特徴を明らかにしました。本ユニットでは、学習の基本原則と社会的相互作用における創造性の出現について研究します。

Shannon has a Bachelor's in Art, Psychology, and Neuroscience. Currently, Shannon is interested in cognition, especially ways to improve cognition, and comparative studies. During rotation Shannon will be participating in the Video Interactions project to study realtime social interactions.

Kazuma has a BSc and MSc in computer science. His interest is “Self-Dynamics” in the human-computer integration experience. He works on this topic through the demonstration and the psychophysical/cognitive experiment. He is not only a Ph.D. student at OIST, but also he is a Research Assistant of SonyCSL and a Visiting Researcher of Keio Media Design. He approaches his theme from various perspectives and aspires to work across disciplines.

Georgii has a combined BSc and MSc in theoretical astrophysics. Currently, his interests in intersection of astrobiology and artificial life.

Kensei obtained Bachelor’s in Engineering (Material Science) in 2020. His previous work was focused on developing autonomous robots and molecular computers using DNA as building blocks. After enrollment of OIST, his interest shifted to evolution of animal sociality and collective behavior. Under co-supervision by Dr.Tom Froese, Kensei is now studying macroscopic trends in social evolution of animals, exploring the relationship between brain development and animal behavior.

Mariana has a BSc in Social Sciences, which encompasses Sociology, Anthropology and Political Sciences. In the past she has worked in the market research industry and will join the unit to assist with human subjects research.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science in Management but is a dissident of managerial sciences. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Contemporary History alongside a third Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology. With prior experience in the tourism industry, Aaron knows the relevance of positive experiences and well-being.

Aaron is deeply interested in exploring diverse subjects, particularly the intricate dynamics of learning processes, the motivations behind societal disruptions, and their significant role in human development. Aaron is going to assist with human subjects research and helping with the research on social complexity studies.

Aaron has been a member of the International Sociological Association's Sociocybernetics research group for seven years.
