I am a biologist with broad interests in the ecology and evolution of biodiversity. I was born in Montreal and grew up in Virginia and North Carolina before pursuing undergraduate work at the University of Arizona and graduate work at the University of Texas at Austin. I was a fellow in the Society of Fellows at the University of Michigan from 2009-2012. Since 2012 I have been a faculty member at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology where I lead the Arilab. In academic year 2021-2022, I am on sabbatical at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University.
