3D plots of cancerous tumor detection
To test the new method, the researchers simulated an example where the location of the tumor is known, and then applied the method using Electrical Impedance Tomography and optimal control of PDEs to see how accurately they could recover the location of the tumor: (a) true location of the cancerous tumor, (b) reconstructed image versus true location of the tumor, (c) cross-section of the true cancerous tumor, (d) reconstructed cross-section of the tumor.
