OIST held its second Open Campus event on Sunday, March 18, drawing more than 3,000 visitors from Okinawa and beyond.

On March 15, 2012, Mr. Iwao Kakazu and Mr. Tsuyoshi Kakazu handed a donation to OIST President Jonathan Dorfan in memory of their mother Mrs. Takako Kakazu, who was a strong supporter of the OIST vision.

On March 13, OIST entered into a collaboration agreement with the Okinawa Prefectural Government to enhance cooperation on a wide range of areas that include the establishment of an international R&D cluster on the island.

Over the last weeks, there has been a steady stream of visitors to the OIST campus.

The Kauffman Foundation has established the Global Partners Network to catalyze private and public sector resources around the world to support entrepreneurs and to foster economic growth within partner countries.

As part of our effort to nurture young talent, OIST has welcomed two students, Mr. Shunichiro Kaneshiro and Mr. Yuuta Hinokuma, from the Okinawa National College of Technology (ONCT) on a short IT internship, which runs from February 20 to March 31, 2012.
