OIST Selected as Inaugural Member of Kauffman Global Partners Network
On February 19-21, OIST was invited to speak at the 1st conference of the Kauffman Foundation’s Global Partners Network (KGPN) in Half Moon Bay California. The Kauffman Foundation, based in Kansas City, is one of the largest foundations in America devoted to entrepreneurship. In order to catalyze private and public sector resources around the world to support entrepreneurs and to foster economic growth within partner countries, the foundation has launched a newly formed group of 15 organizations from 14 countries, including OIST.
Upon applying for KGPN membership, OIST was supported by the Okinawa Prefectural Government (OPG) and the Okinawa Prefectural Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OFCCI) as our local references. The members will meet regularly to share information about setting up entrepreneurship.
OIST Vice President for Finance & Administration Mr. Patrick Vincent said, “Being selected, with support from OPG and OFCCI, as a member of KGPN is very important to OIST. We are now included in a worldwide network which seeks to create environments favorable to entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship. With the unique experience and support from the Kauffman Foundation we can learn a lot from our partners.”
