Fifteen high school students from the Kyushu region gathered at Kyushu University for the "Kyushu University Future Creators in Science Project(QFC-SP)Entrepreneurship Course" held on January 24th, 2024.
OIST PhD students Callum Hudson James from Marine Climate Change Unit and Daniel Gutierrez Del Rio from Molecular Cryo-Electron Microscopy Unit gave career talks and introduced about their own research. They also gave a lecture on what makes a good or bad presentation based on sample presentations.
In the afternoon session, high school students presented their research in English and received feedback from PhD students. Based on the information obtained from the feedback, the students further revised their presentations to make them even better. The high school students' presentations improved significantly, and the program provided many learning opportunities.
