Solar panels are being installed on the roof of a Faculty Housing unit.

Prof. Hiroaki Kitano (above picture) and a team of researchers from Sony Computer Science Laboratories Inc. designed the Open Energy System, which creates a network of energy that distributes power intelligently.

The eco-friendly polymer can be added to soil, where it retains large quantities of water. This reduces the amount of water needed to irrigate crops.

The Wave Energy project, which is kindly supported by Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, will test prototype WEC-units on Kandooma island. The red arrow marks the experimental  site location, where the stable swells are arriving from the Indian Ocean in a southeasterly direction.
