Dr. Akihiro Funamizu, Prof. Bernd Kuhn, and Prof. Kenji Doya analyzed brain activity in the parietal cortex of mice as they approached a target under interrupted sensory inputs. A depiction of the location of the parietal cortex in a mouse brain can be seen on the left. On the right, neurons in the parietal cortex are imaged using two-photon microscopy.
