At OIST Children's Research Center, we aim to improve understanding and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

We carry out research studies investigating how children respond to positive and negative consequences and their language and social skills. We also develop and evaluate support programs for people living with ADHD.

As part of our research, we conduct comprehensive assessment for English-speaking children age 6-12 with symptoms of ADHD.

We also have opportunities for English-speaking children age 6-12 who do not demonstrate symptoms of ADHD or other learning or behavior difficulties to try our research tasks at our center

For Japanese families, we are asking for your help in evaluating our parent support programs. There are currently limited opportunities for participating in Well Parent Japan (face-to-face parent training). We will have enrollment opportunities for the testing of the mHealth program (delivered via LINE) in the coming fiscal year.

We have a Brazilian version of the mHealth parent support program (delivered via WhatsApp) for families living in Japan and Brazil, currently recruiting participants.

We are also asking help from Japanese, Portuguese, and English-speaking families, professionals, and those living with ADHD to share experiences in raising children, supporting families, and their own experiences during childhood.  Please contribute to our survey
