Junior high school students from Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture, visited OIST
Dr. Fabienne Ziadi from the Bandi Unit (Nonlinear and Non-equilibrium Physics Unit) gave a lecture on her research to 20 junior high school students visiting OIST from Nomi City. The students learned about the ecology and conservation of sharks, and had the opportunity to touch shark skin and observe specimens of shark teeth and spines. The students showed great interest in the research and asked many questions. They also participated in an English exchange session with OIST staff and joined a campus tour, where they gained insight into what it is like to work at OIST.
