Science Trip to Miyako Island

On October 25, 2024, OIST held a lecture at Okinawa Prefectural Miyako High School. 160 participants attended the lecture by OIST research unit technician, Dr. Kiyoto Kurima, from the Wickens Unit (Neurobiology Research Unit) and an alumnus of Miyako High School.

Dr. Kurima shared his experiences as a scientist, including his research work abroad and at OIST, and provided insights into building a career in science.

After the lecture, students actively engaged in discussions, asking numerous questions about career paths and research topics, fostering a lively exchange of ideas.
