Scale insects show dynamic evolutionary history with diverse microorganisms. These plant-feeding insects have mutualistic relationships with bacterial and fungal symbionts that provide essential nutrients to their hosts. This photo displays a new species of Discochiton from Okinawa, which is associated with a fungal partner Ophiocordyceps.

Bovine Serum Albumin droplets obtained by Liquid-Liquid Phase Separation. Other proteins can be partitioned inside the droplets, here represented with different colors. In these images, protein droplets show migration toward the neighboring droplets, resulting in liquid-like mixing of the biological material contained inside them.
