An Idea Becoming Reality!
In 2001, an idea was proposed to establish an international graduate university of science and technology in Okinawa. In 2005, the OIST Promotion Corporation was launched to prepare the way for the international graduate university dedicated to science and technology.
This week on Tuesday 25th of October, a historic moment occurred. Dr. Jonathan Dorfan, President Elect of the soon-to-be Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) Graduate University, was presented with the certificates of accreditation for OIST School Corporation and Graduate University by Mr. Fumio Isoda, the Director-General of the Higher Education Bureau at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT).
