Introduction to Gravity Wave Detection at Tokyo Tech
Description
Prof. Kentaro Somiya from Tokyo Tech
Prof Somiya has various interests - all related to gravity wave detection. These include experiment and theory related to:
- Development of advanced interferometers
- Quantum noise analysis
- Thermal noise analysis
- Macroscopic quantum measurement
Prof Somiya is deeply involved in KAGRA - Japan's Gravity Wave Observatory and has interests in novel schemes for the precision detection of gravity waves. In this talk Prof Somiya will give a brief overview of the various research directions his group is undertaking in Tokyo Tech University towards the development of ultra-precise sensing in gravity wave detection.
