Cephalopod International Advisory Council 2025 in Okinawa (CIAC2025)
Saturday October 25th, 2025 to Saturday November 1st, 2025 (All day)
OIST Conference Center (Auditorium+Meeting Rooms), OIST Seaside House

Description

Founded in 1983, CIAC aims to stimulate, accelerate, and influence the direction of cephalopod research, provide help and advice on aspects of cephalopod biology, including those relevant to the management of the increasingly important cephalopod fisheries, and spread information on past and current research.

CIAC has been organizing triannual conferences since 1981, and, in Japan, the cities of Tokyo and Hakodate have hosted the meetings in the past. In this meeting, over 200 researchers from diverse fields, including genomics, behavior, molecular, and fishery of equally diverse geological locations, gather, seeking to engage in the most current discourses in cephalopod science by participating in the main conference, workshops, poster presentation, and public outreach events.

In addition to the meeting’s mission. The organizers aim to promote ongoing cephalopod research and the general culture of Japan to the world, thereby increasing visibility.
