The position

Section overview:
The Internal Audit Section is responsible for developing the Annual Internal Audit Plan, conducting internal audit activities, and reporting the results to the CEO and senior executives. In addition, the section engages in discussions with OIST Auditors regarding corporate and operational risks. It also handles misconduct and whistle-blowing cases, serves as a contact point for legal violations, and conducts investigations. Through these activities, the section aims to enhance organizational transparency and compliance.

Position Summary:
Join our esteemed Internal Audit team as an Internal Auditor. In this role, you will conduct internal audits, handle misconduct and whistle-blowing cases, and manage general section duties, including corporate document management, travel expense applications, and payment operations.
Selected Candidates must possess at least a four-year college degree or equivalent, strong logical and analytical thinking, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and uphold high ethical standards. Proficiency in Japanese at a native level and conversational English is required, along with strong skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. About OIST

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University was established in 2011 to contribute to the development of science and technology worldwide and to serve as a hub of innovation in Okinawa. Responsibilities
  1. Internal Audit
  2. Misconduct and Whistle-blowing handling (Non-compliance)
  3. Section general affairs duties (Corporate document management operations, travel expense application and clearing, departmental orders, and other operations related to payments)
Qualifications

(Required)

  1. A four-year college degree or equivalent
  2. Ability to think logically, Analytical capability
  3. Good communication skills, interpersonal skills
  4. High ethical standards (integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality)
  5. Japanese language ability at a native level and Conversational level of English proficiency
  6. High motivation for internal audit
  7. PC skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint, etc.)

(Preferred)

  1. English proficiency - CEFR B2 level
  2. Professional experience relevant to the aforementioned duties
Compensation and Benefits

Expected Annual Salary: 3,900,000 - 7,300,000 yen
*This amount represents the expected annual salary range for this position, which will be determined based on your experience and skills in accordance with the OIST Employee Compensation Regulations.

Employment Term

Full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years. Contract initially with 3-month probationary period (inclusive). This contract may be renewed by taking into consideration the performance evaluation, conduct, and behavior of the Employee and OIST’s financial and other circumstances.

Working Hours

Flextime (core time 10:00-15:00) 7.5hrs per day (Multiplied by prescribed working days per month)
Scheduled Working hours: 9:00 – 17:30
Rest period: 12:00 – 13:00

 

Holidays:
Saturday, Sunday, National holidays, and Year-end and New Year holidays (Dec. 29 – Jan. 3)

Leave:
Annual Paid Holidays, Summer Leave, Sick Leave, and Special Leave
