President-elect Dr. Dorfan meets with University of the Ryukyus President

On October 5, 2010, Professor Jonathan Dorfan, President-elect of the OIST Graduate University, visited the University of the Ryukyus campus to meet with the president, Dr. Teruo Iwamasa. Accompanied by OIST Executive Director Dr. Robert Baughman and OIST Board of Governors member Dr. Hiroko Sho, Professor Dorfan and Dr. Iwamasa discussed possible collaboration between the two institutions, including joint research projects and the exchange of researchers. The close cooperation between the University of the Ryukyus, which has over 60 years of history in Okinawa, and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University, which is scheduled to be established in Fall 2011, will stimulate new growth in　research and education in science and technology in the region.
