Seminar Room L4E48

Description

Are you passionate about transforming urban transportation into a more sustainable and efficient system? Join us for the Greener Mobility Ideathon, a hands-on event focused on developing actionable solutions that promote greener, more efficient urban mobility.

Building on the momentum from the previous Sustainable Transport Hackathon, this Ideathon invites participants to collaborate with leading experts in transportation, data, and cloud computing to optimize ideas through SMART goals (Sustainable, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely). Together, we'll tackle real-world challenges, brainstorm impactful solutions, and design plans to drive lasting behavior change.

The Ideathon’s discussion topics will focus on:

  • Evaluating the reliability and accessibility of transportation services and ride-sharing apps.
  • Creating integration plans for public bus timetables and other modes of transport.
  • Designing a scalable cloud computing platform for data management and support.
  • Developing a geographical database for location-based transportation services.

This community-driven event is your chance to co-develop forward-thinking mobility solutions, refine ideas, and turn concepts into action for greener cities!

Background

This one-day Ideathon is organized by the EU-Japan EIG Concert Japan Project:
"A proactive Social-based framework for SMART transportation (SO-SMART)" project on Sustainable Mobility in Okinawa.

SO-SMART brings together experts from EU and Japanese labs over a period of three years to develop practical solutions using an eco-design process involving local citizens. The project aims to develop a platform that is not just useful for Onna/Okinawa, but can act as a reference for future developments in Japan and Europe.

OIST's Visiting Program (TSVP) is the local host of this "Ideathon" at OIST, consisting of two keynote lectures followed by group discussions. OISTers and local residents will work together with experts to find solutions to improve sustainable mobility in the Onna-Ishikawa area.
