Postdoctoral researcher, Organometallic chemistry and its applications to catalysis and materials
In Takebayashi lab (https://groups.oist.jp/buribushi/takebayashi-group), we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who want to study organometallic chemistry and its application to catalysis and advanced materials based mainly on non-precious metals such as iron, cobalt, nickel, and manganese. We aim to address challenges associated with sustainability, energy, and health based on organometallic chemistry.
This project will involve:
- Synthesis of organic and organometallic compounds using a glovebox, Schlenk line techniques, and organic chemistry.
- Analysis of compounds and reactions using NMR, SCXRD, GC, GCMS, EPR etc.
- High pressure (up to 10 bar) reaction using pressure reactors.
- Electrochemistry of organometallic complexes
- Photochemistry of organometallic complexes.
- Theoretical chemical calculations

- Ph.D. degree in organometallic (main group, transition metal, or theoretical), inorganic, or organic chemistry.
- Ability to think, plan, and conduct research by oneself.
- Ability to cooperate with lab members and PI.
(Preferred)
- Experience in Organometallic chemistry.
- Experience in electro catalysis
- Experience in photocatalysis
- Experience in theoretical chemical calculations.
In accordance with the OIST Employee Compensation Regulations
Expected Annual Salary: 4.5M-5.9M yen

Full-time, fixed-term appointment for 2 years. Contract initially with 6-month probationary period (inclusive). This contract may be renewed by taking into consideration the performance, conduct, and behavior of the Employee and OIST’s financial and other circumstances.
