Focusing on the theme “the space between human and machine,” this collaboration between choreographer and dancer Un Yamada and professor Takashi Ikegami (professor at University of Tokyo since 1994 and Visiting Professor at OIST in 2022) was performed at Naha Cultural Arts Theater NAHArt on December 17 and 18, 2022.

On November 2, 2021, violinist Eiko Kano, in her role as OIST Foundation Music Ambassador, performed in the OIST Auditorium with pianist Yuka Oyabu to celebrate the foundation’s donation of a Steinway piano earlier that same day. 

The “Synergy” art exhibition was born out of a desire to showcase the artistic talents of the OIST community to the Okinawan community and to visitors from the mainland. Moreover, the exhibition aims to foster stronger relationships between OIST and the Okinawan community by promoting the development of artistic expression

On January 25th, 2020, we welcomed the new year to the 6th Ryukyuan Traditional Performing Arts Performance “Sounds of the Ryukyus” at OIST.
