STEPS - Geometry preparation toolkit

On the left you can see dendrites with different numbers of spines and visually watch how the molecules inside spread out, or diffuse, differently when there are more spines.

On the right, you can numerically see the distribution of molecules in the spines versus the shaft showing the molecules getting caught in the spines, which is called anomalous diffusion.

Video of polymer being stretched and released

The scientists used a CCD camera to directly visualize the changes in brightness as the polymer was stretched and released. The false color red represents high light intensity and the false color blue represents low light intensity.

Abnormalities in stamens

The stamens in mutant strains contain anthers – the part of the stamen that houses pollen – that are shorter and more curled than in wildtype strains.
