A rare specimen of Lantern Shark (Etmopterus molleri) from Onna-son, captured at 400 m. These are small, deep-sea sharks that can produce and emit their own light with its luminescent organ on the body surface. This mature male was examined in the laboratory at OIST, indicating that reproduction may take place in the Nago bay ISRA. Credit: Fabienne Ziadi-Künzli
