Micro/Bio/Nanofluidics Unit Research Featured on the Cover of Analytical Chemistry

An image created by PhD student Shivani Sathish from the Micro/Bio/Nanofluidics Unit has been featured on the cover of the December issue of the journal Analytical Chemistry.

The image is part of a paper by Dr. Francesco Del Giudice and Shivani Sathish from the unit, which was published in this journal, entitled,"From the edge to the center: viscoelastic migration of particles and cells in a strongly shear-thinning liquid flowing in a microchannel".

The image is a schematic representing polymer chains pushing rigid particles towards the edge and deformable living cells towards the centerline in a straight microfluidic channel.
