The study, authored by Dr Tapan Sabuwala of the Continuum Physics Unit, along woth Pinaki Chakroborty of the Fluid Mechanics Unit, outlines how surface roughness is a key factor in creating crater rays - the patterns of ejected debris that are created by meteorite impacts on the surface of planets.
