Title : Self-similarity approach on the dynamical impact of solid sphere onto the viscoelastic surface.
Abstract:
In the field of soft matter, the mechanics of cintinua, we frequently
encounter phenomena in which their behaviors drastically change
depending on the scale of the physical parameters. In the view of
scaling law, it corresponds to crossover of scaling law in which scaling
law transforms to another. The general approach to this has been
treating each scaling law separately while the transition should be
continuous. In my study, I proposed Self-similarity approach in which we
explore the self-similarity structure and succeeded in integrating two
different scaling law by a single self-similar solution on dynamical
impact of solid sphere onto the viscoelastic surface. I demonstrated
that the dynamics involved in the process are summarized in two primal
dimensionless numbers, one constitutes the ratio of kinetic energy and
elastic energy, and the other constitutes the ratio of viscosity and
elasticity. The self-similar solution numerically visualizes the degree
of competition among those dynamical components, and the scaling
behaviors are governed by this competition. This work can be an
effective approach for phenomena in which multiple components interfere
in a complicated way (arXiv:2203.00253).
