Technician, Evolutionary Genomics Unit

The position

The Evolutionary Genomics Unit is working on the evolution of insects and their associated microbes. We primarily focus on two insect models, termites and cockroaches, to investigate research topics such as the evolution of insects with their symbiotic microorganisms, the reconstruction of insect phylogenies and historical biogeography, and the evolution of insect genomes. All these themes are addressed using microscopy and high throughput sequencing. We are looking for a Research Technician to join our team. Previous lab work experience, ideally with microscopy of insects (or other organisms), is required. Previous work experience with insects is not necessary. The successful candidate will support the members of the Unit, especially with the creation and curation of a sample database.
